Subject: engine troubles.... by Corvette90 on 2008/5/12 12:14:45 hi all have driven the car today, and when i come home, there was a medium loud ticking noise under the drivers side valve cover... removed the V/C and started to look for things..nothing noticeable i started the car with V/C open, the following occured: on the firewall side, there was plenty of oil coming from the pushrods.. the amount of oil decreased going towards the front of the engine, and on the 2 pushrods, nearest the front, cyl #1 no oil was coming from them.... also, the very first lifter on cyl 1 was compressible, so no oil in it... what the hell is going in here? the engine is based on a GMPP block, once i swapped the cam, but not the bearings..possible failure? the oil pressure is just 30psi hot, this with an Melling Performance +25% pump... any opinions? thank you |
