Everytime I researched keeping the 4+3 clutch I ended up with halftruths and untested information. LD85 might be able to help. I recall the Howe doesn't fit and needs shims on the bellhousing, although the 89-90 bellhousing will help, it's ever so slightly deeper. What about cutting the flywheel down more? I just don't like the idea of bellhousing shims. That whole thing is a weak structural member, and on the C4 especially it gets a lot of force put on it carrying the weight of the drivetrain bouncing around. Unless your shim consists of an aluminum or steel plate that covers the entire surface, I don't like it. |
