Is there any other way to test the plug wires?

Plug wires can be checked with an ohm meter. There's a spec in the FSM for the stock ones I think.

When I changed the old worn out stock wires to Taylors, the old wires had 6 times the resistance of the new ones.

How old are the MSD's?
MSDs and Taylors will last many years before degrading.
