jimmers, you and I have been in the same boat a lot lately. I just had it done 2 weeks ago and it cost me $400 parts and labor. Once I read about needing a spring compessor and it being a pain in the ass I sent it out to my regular mechanic.
My 91 has about 159,000 miles on the body and about 7000 miles on a 383 engine. Since December this car has been a pain in the ass and a cash pig. I just hate to quit when I feel I'm so close to having it running right. Right now, I'm getting ready to send it to an ace Corvette mechanic and just have him go at it. I'll just have to spend some of my sons inheritance.

I hear ya! I finally got my car fixed after 5 weeks. Turns out 2 injectors were bad. First time I drive the car after it's fixed, this happens! It never ends!
