Tuning 1992 LT-1 for Boost 1-Bar MAP

Subject: Tuning 1992 LT-1 for Boost 1-Bar MAP
by djxib on 2008/9/17 12:39:58

I have a 383 LT-1 with LT-4 heads and a Vortech running 12psi. I know the 'best' answer to tuning this setup is FAST (or similar) with 2-Bar, however the car runs very well (traps at 118mph with a 2.2 second 60'.. and no, I cant drive :-). I heard that "a lot of 92-93 guys tune for boost using a 1-bar MAP". The car doesnt knock and I am using a 2-stage alky kit.

Anyway, I'm looking for some orientation around the tune, esspecially what the technique is for dealing with boost situations (e.g., are all boost-situations just taken care of at the VE/Spark for 100kpa?).

I have Ostrich 2 from Moates and over the next few months I will get a WB O2 to help with WOT tuning. In the meantime I'm looking to tweak a few things because Datamaster shows its running rich when not in boost.

Thanks for any advice!
