So, it broke, and I'll fix it.

BFD.

I'm not surprised

I expected it, just happened a little sooner than I had hoped. Again, BFD.

I didn't blow it off, but I had a choice to make. I had so much money to spend and a tranny could not be justified to the wife until it blew up. Period. I never argued that it would, go back and check my posts.

My tact is to finish the engine and cross my fingers, or do what so many people do and start collecting all the really cool parts and never get anything done. That's how many builds stall at the bench.

I meant you blew me and my suggestion off. AS with anything car related the odds of never getting anything done or getting it put back together are pretty high and we get parts vehicles.
I'll also concede that just like politics all of us have different ideas about how to do a build. Me I go for reliability as I like to go for long weekend drives. Maybe it takes me a little longer to complete. I do my projects over the winter so time is not the important thing to me reliability is.
As far as the rear ,labor wise its nothing compared to pulling the tranny when the motor was out.It could be done at any stage and still require the same amount of labor

Although I don't have to justify anything , she knew my car vice when she met me. She also knows that I like to do things once and be done. She also like to travel with me in the car and wants it to be reliable as well
Guess I'll go back to reading your threads , shaking my head and agree to disagree with you
