Was finally able to get the vette on jackstands and the starter out on Wed. Rather than buy a new (~$300) or reman.(~$150) I decided to have mine rebuilt. Dropped it at the shop Thursday afternoon. Got a call from the shop Friday to let me know that the starter was in good shape but the contacts were shot and were replaced. Got it back that day and put it in tonight. Starts each and every time now. Total cost to me - $45.00 with a 24 hour turn around time! So far, I am a happy boy. Thanks again for all the suggestions. Bill |
