Both could be power, neither could be.

However, if they are, they should move fore/aft and up down with little more than an electric motor whine....

RIF - what to do?

Subject: RIF - what to do?
by AKS_Racing on 2008/12/16 0:24:56

I posted this on another site to serve to explain my absence over the last few weeks on this board.

What do you do when you find out that you are part of the ~3500 people being let go from your company?

Well I figured I needed something to do in between jobs as I will be out at the end of Feb (can not work elsewhere until very late Feb), and I have a bit of vacation to burn at the end of the 2008 year.

So I started by finally erecting the lift (I should have bought / installed one of these years ago). This is sweet (you can see it in the background in the pics on each side of my '87.

Then I decided I would buy a few wrecked bikes ~2 weeks ago. So my son (yes the one who was critically injured on 11/1; fully healed; ah.. to be young) and I made a 1900 mile trip to northern AL, and western TN over 37 hrs on 12/3-12/4 to get these:

2005 GSXR 750, laid down, cosmetic wrecked, needs some TLC

2007 GSXR 750, curbed, wasted rear suspension (swingarm, wheel, links, brake, etc) and lots of cosmetic.

damaged parts removed

lots of new "auction" parts installed.

The '05 was ready for inspection and registration within 3 days of being home and the '07 will be ready this weekend. I am looking for the next one(s) as we speak. I used to rebuild the C4 vettes and have done one C5, but these bikes are just easy to bolt together.

Any other ideas of what to do in between "meaningful" employment?
