Heater Core?

Subject: Heater Core?
by Randyj75 on 2008/12/30 15:10:04

Yesterday was a nice day here in Maryland, so I took the Vette for a ride. The heat was on high, and when I turned it off, I smelled a faint odor of antifreeze; so I guess maybe my heater core is leaking? I am not seeing any leaks, and w/ the defrosters on, there is no "smoke", in fact the smell then goes away.
I replaced every hose in the car when I installed a new water pump in '07, but I used an high flow model, and have had to replace the intake manifold gasket because of it. I am afraid that the water pump is taking out the heater core now?

Anybody have any idea whats going on here?

Thanks, Randy
