The plot thickens.
I just came in from working on the car... and here is the score.
IT RUNS. Figure that one out.
I am now beginning to wonder if the brain on the LTCC isn't the cause.
An email I sent to Bob, the guy who created the LTCC:
Quote:
Bob,
Long time no speak!
How have you been?
I have a question regarding the LTCC module. If it is deciding to fail, does it start tripping DST 42s? Could a failing coil cause this? It's just that the Helm FSM has all sorts of tests to perform and I can't do them...
Reference: 1992 Corvette
I was driving back to work from lunch on Wednesday and it died and wouldn't restart. I had to have it towed home.
I finally got out there this morning and checked the usual suspects:
Fuses - all ok Fuel Pressure - 45 PSI and holding nicely (holding 45 PSI from Wednesday, for that matter). Wiring to LTCC - all soldered and heat shrinked with glue, to keep moisture out (hell, I am in CA now, what moisture?) Removed cover to LTCC, dry inside, no sign of burned board or components. Nothing funny smelling.
The car just died and would not restart. Now, it has sat for a couple of days and well... after the various checks, it fires right up. I am going to replace the plugs, they are NGK Iridiums and they look a little worn out.
Any ideas?
I recend my hatred for the fuel pump.
An additional thought:
** Could corrosion build up on the contacts of the fuse panel to such a point that the car won't start?
When I went to look at this car way back in 2000, I was going through the test processes for all the accessories. I get to the wipers and nothing. The then owner checks the fuse and it was fine. Put it back in, wipers work.
