84-85E pedals have a larger pin to engage the m/c eyelet. I thought it only changed after that in 1990, which is when the interior was changed.

Hrmm. my pedal is from an '89. It clicks into the aftermarket ZF6 master I bought which has a plastic insert.

Do you happen to know the eyelet size for the 84-85E and later?

The eyelet is huge on my aftermarket master with the big plastic insert. I wonder if a different insert/bushing could be used for the different pedal.

I would look for a late85-89 pedal.

I don't know of any firewall differences. I would be surprised if there was.

It's the bar that runs across the dash that is the issue between pre 90 and post 90. The pedal bracket bolts to that bar.
