An ignition module or coil can open up from heat and quit working, but they also tend to work again after they cool off. You can get a timing light, or pull a plug out and ground it on the engine (but leave the wire hooked up) and check for spark while cranking to see if the ignition is working. It might also be a dead fuel pump. Get the car in a quiet place and turn the key on (not start) and have someone listen under the tank in back, they should hear the fuel pump hum for 2 seconds as it primes the system. If you're not sure, turn the key off and wait 10 seconds then try it again. You can also check for fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail, or just poke the stem to see if its under pressure. |
