Disassemble your set up, pull out the 1/2 inch longer crank bolt, install the 3/4 longer crank bolt, reassemble the puller, then pull the hub off another 1/4 of an inch. At this point, the hub will probably fall off. If not, disassemble everything, take your crank bolt out, and dink with it. It should come off from here. If not, one more go round with a slightly longer bolt should do it.


That's the method I use, and the reverse to reinstall.
