Subject: RE:new engine! by PeteK on 2007/1/21 17:13:52 I may have a bigger project yet for 08. I have a friend that was going to build a 406 also. He has much more money in his block due to adding splayed 4 bolt main caps. I believe he has $1,300 invested. He has decided to bail out of it and wants to sell me the block, a set of $500 forged pop up pistons and a solid roller cam(both pistons and rods are brand new in the box) for $800. I presume I can e-bay the pistons and cam to recoup $400 of the $800 spent. If it happens, I plan to begin aquiring a 3 7/8 stroke crank. The result will be a 420 cube monster. For the price, I have to buy it. I have a couple of 383 stroker engines laying around. I may freshen those and sell them to fund the build up. |
