Hi,

Any recommendations for a stall converter or just leave it stock?

It depends on budget I guess. Stock 86 converter stalls about 2000 rpm. Jumping it up to 2500 or so can make seat of the pants acceleration a bit better.
Stepping it up to a 9.5 inch version will help more. They are 14 pounds lighter so there is a dual benefit. Quicker acceleration because it is lighter, plus the added stall speed.
9.5 inch converters start at $525.
