My only cheat is the ATI balancer pulley. It extends the pulley itself out far enough that you can remove the opti without taking it off. I know every bolt size, every torque spec, exactly what tools I'll need, have several sets of the water pump gasket, etc. etc. Oh, and lots of experience. I should work at a Chevy dealer and do exclusively opti replacements. There are probably enough of them to make a good living... I will tell the story of the race later today.
