Because I installed a B&M shift kit, the B&M instructions will dictate checkball placement, and it will vary depending on model year. On this 90 core, the pic below shows correct placement. 3 OEM checkballs were ommitted. Next, alignment pins are placed, and the gasket is lowered down. Notice the gasket placed first (against the case) is marked with a C Modified seperator plate is installed, then the valve body gasket. Notice it is marked with a V Checkballs are placed in the valve body, (again as per the B&M instructions), and retained with a plop of vaseline. All bolts are carefully torqued in sequence to 87 inch pounds. Aux Valve body, crossover tube, and 1-2 accumulator cover are installed next, with the same torque spec. I have also installed the lock up harness, and all pressure switches. Next comes the filter, and a final once over. Then the pan goes on, and all pan bolts are torqued to 100 inch pounds. DO NOT use any sealer on gasket. A thin smear of vaseline is ok, but not sealers or adhesives. Retorque after 1 week. Finished trans: |
