If possible, I may run the trans with the current combo. It has blowby, but still runs stong, and consistently. I see no reason not to get good data. If time doesn't allow me back to the track this year, I will put the repaired or different engine in, tune it, then swap in the new gear ratio trans, so I may get good comparative info. Small hiccup in the plans.
