Personally I'd recommend just getting wheels that fit, but if you really want ones that don't, those are the correct type adapters to use. Get some 1.5" adapters and you won't have to worry about stud clearance.

Some replacement wheel bearings have quick-start studs that extend out further. I don't think they're longer than 1-1/2". But even if they are you can press them out and pull new studs in, that can be done on the car.

I also have some C5 mag wheels I'd let go cheap. Interested? The fronts need some cosmetic repair.
