Subject: RE:Dif'rent strokes by bogus on 2008/2/16 2:42:26 I agree... I don't dig the bling. We have a cheapo Pioneer in the Jeep and it is very conservative looking. Here is the score with 2DIN heads: THEY SUCK! For the most part, they are large, pricy and lack basic features. I had a Pioneer a few years back that was 2DIN... I can't say I hated it, but I sure didn't like it much. I ultimately replaced it with an Alpine 7998. Sadly, that head isn't available anymore from Alpine, check ebay. It requires an amp, tho. eBay Search on Alpine 7998 It is one of the BEST head units I have ever had or listened to. Just amazing. when I bought mine 5 years ago, I paid about $750 for it. A shit load, eh? But worth every penny. The only problem? No HD radio... that's it. It will do just about everything else. |
