You may also need to lower the gain on the amp. Perhaps it's just too hot and is picking up noise.
I have installed a lot of stereos... from a lot of brands, including Kenwood, and I have found that Kenwood is very prone to picking up noise.
I did a Kenwood install in my Mom's Accord back in the early 90s. It had a buzz I could never get rid off... until I put an Alpine head unit in it.
Just a thought...
