New system setup by -=Jeff=- on 2010/11/5 11:59:48 Helps to have a plan when i was trying to research the HU I am buying I cam across this thread: CD8053 with active 3way Plus Sub it is a similar set-up as far as drivers.. so here is what I am thinking for the initial setup Speakers: Woofers (using either eD EU700s or my 9kv.2s) Mid bass CDT EF6 Mid Range CDT CL4 Tweeter TW24 Initial Crossover points: Woofer: LP - 80hz, 24dB/oct slope Midbass: HP - 80hz, 24dB/oct slope, LP 500hz 12dB/oct slope Midrange: HP 500hz 12dB/oct slope, LP - ~5000hz, 24dB/oct slope Tweeter: HP - ~5000hz, 24dB/oct the two 12dB/Oct slopes are due to the limitation of the Active Crossovers of the Amplifier, since the HU has a 3-way active setting I am using the Amps Crossovers to split the midrange signal Plan is one amp will run the woofers and the midbass, the second will run the midrange and tweeter. I am thinking it should sound fairly decent to start with, then the tweaking begins |
