Re: Complete install in a 1992 C4

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome messages!! I have not done anything with it yet but yes it looks like I need to do some triming... Trying to think this all out before I cut.

My first step is I'm going to mount the head unit to see where everything sits(waiting on install kit). I want to make sure when the face moves forward and then tilts it does not hit the shifter (automatic trans). If it clears that then I'm going to slide the trim piece over it to see exactly how everything fits. If all that looks ok then onto how and where to cut/trim. Jagged edges will drive me crazy....

I ordered the below harness adapter, hope it is the correct one..I am only planning on using the power leads and antenna extention so I think I will be ok as long as the plug fits.

PART NUMBER 70-1857
Description: Tuner relocation harness and Bose integration harness

Product Specifications
-Retains factory BOSE system
-Bypasses factory tuner
-Includes antenna extension
-21-pin plug
Allows installation of an aftermarket radio using the existing factory wiring and connectors. No cutting of factory wiring is needed. This particular harness bypasses the remote tuner in certain GM vehicles while allowing the factory BOSE system to still function.
