As long as the tread is above the wear bar, there's not much we in tech can say, they will pass. I would tell the driver to monitor those very closely though, every session.
Ultimately, safety is the drivers responsibility as weither to run those or not.

They'd probably last a day if you're not sliding around much but the grip won't be there.

A lot of guys "cord" their tires an events. But, that doesn't make much sense to me. Why spend a day sliding all over the place.

On race tires, we don't pay any attention to tread depth, it's all about the number of heat cycles.
