You couldn't be more correct. I could have simply plunked down some money and walked out with a new Vette. I took my 85 and had it transformed into something that will rival any new or old Corvette. Its power matches the new Z06's, but I think the style, the interior, exterior, motor, etc., is far better looking than anything being produced today. Not only was the motor modified, but the brakes and suspension as well. New front and rear springs from VetteBrakes were installed as well as their C4 to C5 front and rear upgrade kit, including their rotors and calipers. I had a Lakewood Blowproof bellhousing installed, because if I ever really get on it and something let's go, I'd like to keep my body parts. A dual friction Centerforce clutch was installed as well as a Tremec TKO-600 5-speed. That 4+3 had to go.

I could go on and on with what's been done to the car, but the point is that I had all this work done because I like the C4, its look, its style and when the car's done, it will handle as well, if not better than a modern Z06 and just may outrun it too. New isn't necessarily better. There is a place for the old, but improved.
