Anyways, the Hurst ZF shifter works by not only shortening the top end, but also lengthening the shifter below the pivot. This gives you about 25% less mechanical advantage and movement without cutting too much off the shifter height.



Well, coming from the Fiero family there were a couple of vendors that would take the OEM piece chop the shaft and rethread. I guess that would be considered reducing the throw.
