Took a little road trip this week

Took a little road trip - vacation this week. Took the wife and Vette down to the Amana Colonies for a few days. It's 7 colonies in Iowa that's pretty much a visitors site now, it was a communal area till about 50 years ago. They still have things like the Woolen Mill, Furniture Shop and various other wineries etc. you can go through most every place. There's all kinds of little stores, shops and museums you can visit.

Car ran perfect till it was time to go home. I'd forgotten to turn off the interior lights the night before as I normally don't turn them on but it was raining banshees and needed to find some stuff inside when we got back to the B&B. Had to get a jump but once running it ran again like a champ all the way home. The rain was a bit of a disappointment but we had places we could go and the convertible didn't melt :-).

We stayed at a B&B that once was the stagecoach station for the area, nice place. If you're into this type of spot to spend some time, Check out the Amana Colonies along I80 West of Iowa City, Iowa. You may already have heard of them, that's where the Amana Appliances (Like Amana Radar Range) were built for years till Raytheon bought the company.
