Re: 1979 Porsche 928 Clutch Kit

I just found out my nephew works for a clutch shop that may do fabrication up near Snellville Ga. I'm going to pose a few querries in that direction. I'm still not moving away from single disc applications that would work, if only they have a few answers for the wrencher. I'm not ready to drop over $1300 unless it's direct fit or just minor mods required. The top end of the motor was redone. The engine is out. I'm not convinced there are none to be had. With many parts the supply line dries up and then remanufacture takes place when demand requires. Can clutch plates be relined or rebuilt? There are bits and pieces here and there. We can find three or four parts of the 6 required. Like disc 1 not disc 2, the clutch release bearing, the intermediate plate and the clutch pressure plate are around I believe. I'm far from beaten just delayed. Maybe should have gone from the start with a domestic drive train. Pricey though. Not the route I really want to take. By the time the rebuild would be done I'd be in C5 Z06 territory moneywise. Well it is in pieces. Maybe I could just part it out. Again, not a direction I want to take. The hunt continues.
