With the shortest driveshaft, 1/3rd of the rear wheel was covered up (moved forward into the bodywork). Huge wheelwells. We couldn't run SS that way, had to run in the Altered class. The Ramchargers started out with a lunchtime conversation with a few Mopar engineers who wanted to go racing. Since they were designing all the stuff, they had a big advantage. It grew to where there were a lot on engineers involved, the the factory became actively involved. Then they started to give outside support to guys like Landy and Sox & Martin. |
