Bill, I had an email conversation with Dutch Mandel, Assoc, Publisher/ Editorial Director-AUTOWEEK, asking him why the artisans restoring the exotic cars were seldom recognized in car show articles.
The rich-guy owner and his fur-clad wife are the only names attached to the winning car. The poor dudes doing the work are seldom, if ever, mentioned.
Mandel provided a proper and polite response, but it was focused on those providing the resources for restoration, rather than those doing the restoration.
I'm for the shops receiving a duplicate trophy or plaque presented to the owners.
