I continue to be amazed at the pathetic offerings in the early 80's ... how far we have come and don't make me go back there ... On that Toronado...make mine the 5.7 Diesel engine ... yeah that will be good right? hahahahaahahaaaa ... I remember I bought an 81 Caprice with that engine in it because ... I can't remember why ... mileage? torque? Whatever reason it was the wrong one ... They docked me 1200 bucks when I traded it in on a 1986 Thunderbird just like awesome Bill from Dawsonville was driving and kicking ass in NASCAR. First Ford I ever bought ... not a bad car ... Turbo 4 banger but would move right along ... They would take those diesel cars like that and yank the engine out of them and put a small block back in it and then they could sell them ... I don't think you see a lot of those Diesel cars at the auctions ...

In 2014, Mecum had a blue 1980 Buick Electra Limited diesel coupe with blue velour seats and 65,000 miles up for sale at their Harrisburg auction. It sold—for $3,500. My questions were A) who buys this car and B) who kept it all these years?
