I drove a 1962 Ford to college that had a 390 High Performance engine with dual point ignition, high rise aluminum intake manifold, heavy factory special headers, Holley four barrel with manual secondaries and a high lift cam. It was a 375 HP engine with a Q designation.

I never got under 13 mpg and I could get around 17 mpg if I drove somewhat human. This was in trips across ND from Medora to Fargo, about 340 miles. It was on the interstate at 75+++ MPH.

I bought the car used with 120,000 on it and drove it another 60,000 or 70,000 miles. I wish I still had it.
