Re: IRL Season Opener

I've gone to many races at Homestead of all venues. I've seen some horrendous wrecks and lives lost there too. The IRL cars are wicked fast. 210 plus on the oval. Nascar is more entertaining there though because of the number of cars/trucks on the track. 20 cars on a mile and a half just doesn't leave much wheel to wheel racing. Usually the fastest few cars are battling for the lead and the rest are just running laps. Nascar rides can hit the wall and continue to race. There is no continuing if you take an IRL racer into the wall. Man they just disintergrate leaving the cockpit intact. Most of the times the drivers are intact too. I went to all the events for over 10 years. Now I pretty much fire up the grill in the yard and watch it on the tube. I'm getting to be a real lazy mofo. Lots of former Cart/IRL drivers have taken a seat with the big dogs. I like the road course for IRL better than the roundy round. True , you can't see as much, but there are more shifts and lots of speed variations. Tampa /St Pete follows this one.
