Subject: Re: Maf sensor on a explorer by CentralCoaster on 2008/4/15 17:02:18 In my experience, if the Autozone clerk says it's bad, then it usually means its perfectly fine. A MAF check engine lights trips when the MAF system isn't functioning properly. The maf system consists of way more than just a maf sensor. It also has relays, the computer, other engine sensors, wiring in between, all of which could throw a MAF code. You can cross your fingers and hope a $200 maf replacement solves it, or you can diagnose it with the manual to see what the actual problem is. I would also google the code # and 98 explorer to see what comes up. |
