Re: Correct Fuel Pump or Not?

Subject: Re: Correct Fuel Pump or Not?

The 55-62 Corvette V8s have an unusual clocking on the fuel pump due to the frame and the motor mount (between the water pump and the block). My experience is that the parts houses will show a listing for an early vette, but the fuel pump clocking will be wrong.

The repro pumps will fit the car. I bet a parts house pump has the traditional SBC fuel line clocking, which will not let his stock line be used. I had two AC Delco pumps fail on the 62, and one AC Delco pump fail on my truck. None of the AC Delco Repro pumps lasted a year!!!

So, I run a carter pump and changed the outlet clocking to more closely match the stock pumps position. I had to fab a fuel line.
