I have a guy that has a '70 at the shop that I wish could see this thread. HE's a huge dickwad and can't understand why the work on his car is taking so long - he's one of those that want's it way past perfect but expects it for 1982 ford Escort pricing. He wrecked it and should have taken the ins money and ran but hell no, a collision job turned into a full on frame off resto. he thinks he should have had his car back in 6 months. He wanted an LT1 hood - he found one literally out of a trash pile with 7 coats of paint - took more body hours to prep and fit even before the painting could even take place than half the car was worth... every nut and bolt has to be painted, etc.... HUGE loss by the shop on this but it set a system in place where I made books/logsheets/timesheets etc for future projects so this don't happen again.

I admire you and all the rest who choose to invest this much of their time and patience, not to mention money into a car - and do it right. I had no idea what all it took till I seen some of it.
