issue with 77 rear end

Subject: issue with 77 rear end
by fergo on 2011/4/10 23:48:10

hi, i have a 77 corvette and having some issues with my rear end. I had the diff rebuilt, rear trailing arms rebuilt, wheelbearings rebuilt with tolerances. new shocks, new universals. The issue i am having is when moving slowly and turning the wheel i have a banging noise in the rear end. not just a noise but its like the whole car gets bumped a bit, like its shunted sideways. Now i live in Australia so no mechanics have ever seen this stuff and have no idea, so i am pretty much forced to do it myself with some friends mechanic shop. any thoughts?
