I have to ask though, is there a valve under the cap to prevent leakage in an accident?

Actually it replaces the stock hinge ring and lid, meaning the tank is untouched, and the stock fuel cap still threads on and keeps the fuel in the tank. The stock fuel cap still fits through the opening of the new lid so it can come out for refueling.

Then, it's very cool.

If it was by itself, it would be very scarey. The origionals were outlawed many years ago for racing.
