Re: Headlight replacement covers

Okay,
We did these Sunday finally. The hardest part seemed to be getting all the old sealant out of the channel.

Some tips:
*First: We set the oven on 350. This seemed to work fine. *We did remove the module off the rear, can't see how heat like that wouldn't harm it (??)
*Also, be sure to lower the rack you're sitting it on or else the little tabs (pictured) will melt. It won't hurt anything but their shape will distort.
*Insert them a time or two periodically to keep old sealant softer to get it all out
*have a dual working area where you can work, and also set the other half of the light
*keep all lint and dust off the inside of the thing.

The kit came with both lenses, gaskets and enough sealant to do both lights. The sealant is in one large roll, so half accordingly prior. Save your screws and pieces.

Noted difference: these new lenses do not have the tabs or pegs that the new gaskets attach to. This confused me as for all the trouble the vendor went to in order to ensure these were as close to OEM as possible, why were those left off?

All pieces went back together like they should have, and to heat back up we used a setting in the oven of 190. After about a half hour, you can unclamp these and they should be good to go.
