Subject: Bay State Corvette Club Update for June 18th

Hi Everyone,

We had a lower turnout at June's meeting, compared to our last 4 meetings, but we still accomplished a lot. This Sunday, there are 3 events that you may be interested in, if it doesn't rain :-(

Sunday Morning Holliston will be holding it's Antique and Special Interest Auto Show at the Holliston Historical Society on Washington St. Cars are displayed early in the morning. Plan on arriving around 8:30-9:30 AM.

Imperial Ford in the little town of Mendon is sponsoring the Corvette-Mustang Challenge Show on Sunday. Hours are 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Expect many cars to show up if the weather holds out. Even if you just go to see the new Corvettes, Mustangs, and Challengers that Imperial will have on display will make the trip worth it. Don't forget the 100+ guitars and rock n' roll memorabilia that they have on display.

If you are heading to the Cape, Hyannis will be closing Main St. for a car show in their downtown.

We are rescheduling our PawSox game for later in the season, as the June dates are sold out.

The next club event will be the Elm Bank Antuque, Classic, and Custom Auto Show at the Elm Bank Estate on located on Rte 16 at the Natick/Wellesly town line. The show is Sunday, June 28th. Show hours are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Show car registration opens at 7:00 AM. In addition to the 300 or so cars, there are beautiful botanical gardens around the 10 acre estate.
If you need more detailed directions or have any specific questions, please E-mail me back.

Looking down the road, on Saturday evening, July 25th, we will be going to the Redwood Drive-in (restaurant) for some good 50's style eating, followed by an evening at the Mendon Drive-in, to see a double feature of 1st run movies. Corvettes will be optional, but definitely doable at each location.

Doc's Sports Bar will be closed on Sundays in July and August. Two of our newest members, Rosemary and Frank Fontanna, have graciously offered to have a cookout at their home for our July meeting on July 12th. The meeting time will be 4:00 PM. This would be a great time to get a new club photo for the web site, to add to the 5 year old photograph that we currently display on our web site. More details will follow. So, please, make every effort to attend on July 12th. For those of you who always show up, I know you'll be there again. For those who attend a meeting every 5 years, why don't you mark July 12th on your calendar. You'll be off the hook until 20014 :-)

If any club members would like to hold the August meeting at their home, or have a suggestion where it can be held, please let Brian or me know.

Thanks,

Andy
