Its not a problem with your equipment, more so the settings youre on. The higher the resolution setting you go, the more you fit on the screen without having to scroll.

That Sony 17" monitor you have should go to at least 1280x960 if not 1280x1024. It might even go to 1600x1200, and if it does, that means you will fit exactly twice as much on your screen at once compared to the 800x600 youre using now.

There is a deffinate problem with the format doing what it does, but you can certainly improve it by increasing the resolution.

That will certainly help you out in most situations
