Re: eBay Motors Craziness, Part 117

When I was looking at Sharks back almost 2 decades ago I came to like (not love) the 82's when the my preferred option, 68-72 Corvettes had prices that were out of my budget range. Didn't care much for the 73 to 79 era especially with the heavy reduction in horsepower. As everyone knows, each year newer Corvette comes with refinements over the years before. As with many cars today I've watched the prices creep up. Before you know it the prices rise above what at one time you would have been willing to pay. So if something is hot on your wish list, I'd get it while the getting is good. If not you'll be saying something like "I remember when I could have picked one of those up for $XX.XXX. The DeLorean and Pantera are two examples of cars at one point I could have picked up under 15k. Of course 15k then is like 30k today. ;) Ferrari Testarossa's I saw in the 55-65k range. Fuggetabout it. 05/06 Ford GT's, some at a little over 100k. Of course C-3s don't compare pricewise to the vehicles mentioned but I've even seen price improvement in my lowly 79 928. So if you like the 80's Corvettes, it's probably time to leap.
