Yikes.......I wouldn't mess with that gas unless it was for a lawn mower or something like that.......was the gas bad or was there water in the tank?

It would have to be bad gas....

I have had the car a week... it's been run and driven (around the hood) about every night except this weekend... not too far mind you with the rear caliper leaking but just so the wife can get use to driving a 4spd.... Also it's been kept inside the garage and no problems what so ever.

Last night after I installed the new caliper, we drove it 3 miles to the gas station and again it ran great... we were just going for a short ride but the gauge was down to like 1/8th tank and (since I don't know how accurate it reads) I thought better safe than sorry......

After I filled it up, I pulled it out of the station and started driving up the road.... engine started bogging out and dying not even a 1/4 mile away.

Since water is heavier than gas - If the car had water in the tank to start with, the car would never have made it to the gas station IMO.

Plus on Sunday there was a huge rain storm that flat drenched us....

And yes... I hope to save this gas for lawn mower duty but if it seems like bunch of work to get it separated - I'll just feed weeds with it.
