Subject: Anyone own an old school C2? by corvetteronw on 2011/9/18 1:32:10 Back in the 60s we used to pull the front bumpers off for the gasser look. If it was not a big block car many owners would install a big block hood. A Hurst shifter was a must as was a big, chrome Sun tachometer. The stock wheels had to go and were replaced by Torque Thrusts, Ansen slotted mags or Crager SS chromies. Then the rear wheels would get radiused and flared so the fat rear tires would fit. Glass pack mufflers and headers gave you that muscular sound although many Vettes ended up with side pipes. It was common to remove the split from the 63 coupe and replace the 2 small rear windows with a single piece unit.  |
