No, nothing wrong with the rear suspension, even a coilover setup wouldn't change the amount of loading the rear gets.

It's bascially a very heavy car (for a racecar) and the rear hub assemblies were designed for the street. When you put a set of slicks on which have a larger tire contact patch, which allows you to go faster in the corners, higher G forces in the corners put more load on the bearings. And the offset of the wider wheel and tire puts more lever action on the hubs increasing the loading.
