The 928 shouild be done end of next month or so. I'm seriously considering tracking the 83 911 and 79 928 with the local PCA drivers ed experience. They do Homestead, Sebring and Palm Beach formerly known as Moroso West Palm Beach. We would have jumped in years ago but her 87 Cabriolet required a cage. The wife didn't want to do it. Either way, we'll still be doing some kiddie stuff at the autocross. The DE's for both of us can add up $800 to $1000. Autocross costs as a whopping $30 each. We can do it if we want to end up like all the other track rats.

Not sure what you based those numbers on.

$50 for an auto-x down here without membership.
$180 for HPDE

The HPDE also burns a half tank of gas and murders the tires much more, but that's because you're doing the equivalent of 25 auto-x events in that same time period.
