Yes, they had little competition, but it is not their fault that all the other manufacturers in LMP1 "went home." In GTE Pro, I think it was the same story as the Rolex this year—the winners have absolutely no problems. Even five years ago, you could have a minor issue and still win. In 2018, you'd better not put a wheel wrong or you are not going to be on the podium. Congratulations to the European Porsche teams—the pink pig livery will be immortalized yet again. I loved how they were all-in on the retro theme—even having fake brick facings in their garages to make them look a little more old school. I'm proud of the Corvette Racing team. In particular, the #63 worked for that 5th place after dropping as low as 10th. Magnussen drove like a banshee in the late night/early morning hours—perhaps one of the "old men" in Corvette Racing has some years left in him. |
