(Just like any other drug!) The hard part is getting people to get out there in the first place. They want to, they talk/fantasize about it, but they hype it up into some big unobtainable thing and then never show. I always say, plunk down ~$200, borrow a helment, and run what you brung! No need to wait on upgrades or your friends getting their cars ready, or other excuses, if it's good enough to let your wife drive it, it's good enough for your first track day. There's 19 yr old kids out there in Civics and V6 Mustangs for godssake! If $200 of fun breaks your bank, you probably have no business driving a 12-24 yr old Corvette in the first place. And for the 38th time, crashes are a rarity! |
