As a race driver, you should have the situational awareness to catch yellow flags easily. Anybody can miss one but mose drivers with experience don't. It's usually the novices that miss flags. And if you do, you can be sure you're going to get stopped at tech and have a little talk at the end of the race. In NASA and SCCA you will DQ'ed for passing under a yellow (as it should be). Very,very few drivers in NASA and SCCA keep their foot in it and you see a lot of hands come up. HPDE's are a different world, guys miss flags all the time sometimes because they want to run with as few rules as possible. A bunch of them even miss the checkered. At the last 24 hours of Lemons, one "driver" (no rece license req'd) missed a black flag for 15 laps. |
