Subject: Springtime at the dragstrip by flyboy on 2011/4/14 12:47:01 I was hoping to get into the 12's as I had 3 times last year and I did on the first 3 passes including a new best on the first run at Great Lakes Dragaway. GLD is the oldest continually operating strip in the U.S. in Union Grove Wis. After the first 3 runs, I started experimenting with launches and shifting and the times went downhill from there. 12.834@109.48 with a DA of 1523 equates to 12.614@111.38 according to the DragTimes calculator. Also got 23MPG on the 140 mi. round trip. I'm proud of the car. Not bad for a 350 LongTubeRunner with 3.08's. Ah, spring and the smell of burning rubber in the air. Wednesday is ladies night, an added bonus. |
